Subaru All-Around Safety
When your car gives you peace of mind, life becomes more enjoyable. That’s why at Subaru, safety comes first.
PRIMARY
Primary Safety begins at the underlying design stage. Outstanding visibility, optimal driving position, and intuitive controls help keep you safe from the moment you enter your vehicle.

Visibility in all directions
Optimal driving position, window heights, and carefully arranged pillars provide excellent visibility in all directions to reduce blind spots, letting you easily check your surroundings.
PREVENTIVE
With advanced safety technologies such as EyeSight*1, Preventive Safety helps avoid collisions before they happen.

Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD)*2
Sensors placed in the rear corners of the vehicle alert you of vehicles in your rear blind spots for safer lane changes. It also warns you of potential...

Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH)
These headlights operate interconnectedly with steering input and vehicle speed to aim your lights in the direction your vehicle is turning, helping you see better around corners for safer nighttime...

Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB)*2
When in Reverse, this system uses four sensors on the rear bumper to detect obstructions behind the vehicle. If detected, the system can alert the driver with warning sounds and automatically apply ...

High Beam Assist (HBA)*2
High Beam Assist increases visibility and safety when driving at night by toggling the high beams on and off automatically, depending on driving conditions.

*2 The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving and observance of traffic regulations. Please do not depend solely on the Advanced Safety Package features for safe driving. There are limitations to the features of this system. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Please ask your retailer for more details.
ACTIVE
Thanks to technologies like Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and SGP, Active Safety allows precise control of your vehicle by fine-tuning the basic
elements of driving—driving, turning, braking—so you can enjoy each drive with peace of mind.

Vehicle Dynamics Control System + Active Torque Vectoring
Vehicle Dynamics Control System adjusts AWD torque distribution, engine output, and brakes at each wheel to help keep the vehicle on course. And with...

Auto Vehicle Hold
When the vehicle is at a complete stop, Auto Vehicle Hold keeps the vehicle in place even when the brake pedal is released, reducing driver fatigue in stop-and-go traffic.

Hazard Avoidance
Made possible by the SGP and Symmetrical AWD, the lower centre of gravity design, enhanced suspension system, and rigidity improvements provide a vehicle that responds immediately when evasive...
PASSIVE
Passive Safety is designed to keep you safe in the event of a collision, with features such as the cabin-protecting engine layout and SRS* airbags.

Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame
The Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame makes better use of high-tensile steel panels and has been structurally redesigned for more efficient energy absorption from impacts in all directions.

Cabin-protecting Layout
The reinforced pillars and frame all work together within the Forester’s SGP design to absorb collision impact from all sides to protect all passengers. In the event of a frontal collision, the engine and...

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)* Airbags
Front SRS* airbags, front side SRS* airbags, curtain SRS* airbags, and a knee SRS* airbag come standard on the all-new Forester to give all....
EyeSight
Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology

EyeSight*1, Subaru’s cutting-edge driving support system, works like a second pair of eyes for the road ahead, using a pair of stereo cameras to capture colour images with excellent image recognition—nearly as capable as the human eye. When spotting potential danger, such as vehicles,
motorbikes, bicycles, and pedestrians*2, it warns the driver and applies the brakes when necessary, enabling even more confident driving and peace of mind.

Adaptive Cruise Control
When it senses a vehicle in front, Adaptive Cruise Control maintains a set distance from the vehicle ahead by continuously monitoring the distance and speed difference and adjusting the engine...

Lane Sway and Departure Warning
At speeds of about 60 km/h or more, Lane Sway Warning helps you stay alert with a buzzer and flashing indicator if it detects lane drift or sway. At speeds of about 50 km/h or more...

Lead Vehicle Start Alert
When you’re at a stop and traffic starts moving again, Lead Vehicle Start Alert prompts you to take action with a buzzer and a flashing indicator.

Lane Keep Assist / Emergency Lane Keep Assist
Unless the turn signal is being used, Lane Keep Assist can help with steering wheel operation when it detects lane departure, when driving at...

Pre-Collision Braking System*2
Pre-Collision Braking can warn you with a buzzer and flashing indicator when it senses an impending collision with an obstacle in front. If no evasive action is taken, the system can apply the brakes to...

Pre-Collision Throttle Management
When there is an object in front and you put the gear in Drive instead of Reverse, Pre-Collision Throttle Management can alert you with a buzzer and a flashing indicator, and cuts engine...
* View the conditions
*2 Pre-Collision Braking System may not work in all situations. Depending on the speed difference from objects, the object’s height, and other conditions, every situation may not meet the necessary conditions for EyeSight to work optimally.
Driver Monitoring System
Subaru Advanced Technologies

The Driver Monitoring System supports safer driving through a dedicated camera and alerts you when it detects signs of driver distraction or drowsiness.

Safety, comfort, and convenience for any driver.
DMS recognises up to five pre-registered drivers to provide the following customised driver settings for a personalised and convenient driving experience.

Seat Position Auto Adjustment
The system recognises up to five drivers regardless of age or body type, and automatically adjusts the seat position to the driver’s pre-registered setting.

Door Mirror Position-Auto Adjustment
DMS conveniently adjusts external mirrors to the driver’s pre-registered setting.

Auto MFD and Meter
The driver’s last Multifunction Display settings, including individual fuel consumption information, are restored automatically for their convenience.

Auto Air-conditioning
The system remembers and restores each driver’s last used climate control settings to help provide a comfortable and pleasant cabin environment.

Alert
When DMS detects the driver’s eyes shutting or looking aside for an extended period of time, it determines the driver is distracted or drowsy, and alerts the driver via audio and visual warnings on the meter and Multifunction Display.
There are limitations to the features of the Driver Monitoring System. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Please ask your retailer for more details.
